Campus IT Advisory Groups
Academic Technologies Advisory Council (ATAC) Organized by the Provost's Office and the CIO. Assists the Provost's Office and CIO in setting directions and priorities for developing, implementing, and evaluating instructional technology directions for the University.
Active Directory Steering Committee/Enterprise IT Committee (EITC) is a technical, infrastructure/architecture, project/issues based group. The group was created as the steering committee for the first campus AD project in fall 2000. It is a small group that represents both the technical depth available on the campus and the operating diversity of the colleges, university administrative units and hospital. The EITC is evolving into a broader based group whose agenda will depend on the nature of IT changes occurring on campus.
Campus Information Technology Leaders (CITL) is comprised of collegiate and administrative IT staff whose purpose is to improve coordination and communication on issues of common concern. The group's general activities include collaboration and discussion on information technology issues, developing institutional information technology strategies, managing changes to the infrastructure and enterprise solutions, and improving shared understanding of emerging information technologies.
The CIC is the academic consortium of the Big Ten universities and the University of Chicago. Its programs encompass nearly all aspects of university activity. The University of Iowa participates regularly in CIC Information Technology Activities.
Information Technology Advisory Committee (ITAC) is a University Charter Committee consisting of membership of seven faculty, two staff, and two students. The charge to the Committee is to advise on the present and future needs of faculty, staff, and students for computing services and formulate recommendations for meeting these needs and for maintaining a proper balance among all academic computer needs and services in the University. Student Technology Advisory Committee (STAC) is comprised of seven students that have been appointed by Student Government. STAC advises ITS on technology issues relating to students. The Committee will advise ITS concerning how the Student Computing Fees should be allocated and recommend special projects or strategies.
