Human Resources
Human Resources in the CIO office, supports the Information Technology Services (ITS) organization; a group of five centralized professional services departments whose mission is to identify, develop, deploy and support information technologies with a variety of campus partners for the benefit of faculty, staff and students.
The primary role of the Human Resource Administrator is to serve as a consultant, resource and liaison to departmental directors and staff regarding human resource policies, processes and programs. Campus-wide initiatives include:
- UI Learning and Development Opportunities
UI Learning & Development is the central office for professional development and acts as a clearinghouse for much of the professional development that occurs on campus.
- Learning online with SkillSoft
Online courses, books and more available at no charge to UI faculty, staff and students.
- Assistance and support for all campus IT professionals

The IT Professional Development Team promotes career development opportunities for information technology staff at the University of Iowa by sponsoring annual individual development awards of up to $1,500 for up to 10 recipients.
