NSC-031016: Critical Microsoft Windows Vulnerabilities
Yesterday, Microsoft issued a series of patch notices covering critical security vulnerabilities in various versions of Windows. Recommendations are to immediately get all vulnerable Windows computers patched.
Collegiate and Administrative Unit leadership are responsible for ensuring that end users, or support staff (on behalf of end users), get all Windows machines in their unit updated in a timely fashion to protect against the possibility of another attack against our resources.
Windows computer users must be directed to perform "Windows Update" if a process is not in place to automatically update their workstation, or if support staff are not available to update for them.
You must determine the optimal method for communicating this issue to individuals in your unit based on your current operating procedures.
