The Uiowa System Registry |
The Uiowa System Registry (USR) is a web-based application which allows system administrators to register their system(s) with the IT Security Office. This application is HawkID authenticated. Access USR by visiting https://web.its.uiowa.edu/systemreg/. Note, USR only maintains information on systems which are assigned a static IP address.
Benefits:
- By registering a system, you associate yourself with that system. If the IT Security Office needs to get information about a registered system, the administrator could be contacted directly, as opposed to sending out information probes to building-wide mailing-lists.
- In the event of an incident, if an affected system is registered, the IT Security Office will attempt to contact the appropriate administrator before taking any actions.
- You can request port scans from USR.
