Campus IT Strategy

In late 2005, the University of Iowa commissioned a review of all Information Technology (IT) across campus. From this review, administrators recognized the need for an overall strategy to guide IT at the University. The resulting Campus IT Strategic Plan was published in July 2007.

Out of the campus strategic plan grew the Campus IT Action Plan, which lists actions that are shared by all campus IT groups in support of the five overarching goals and 25 corresponding strategies listed in the campus IT strategic plan.

In further support of the campus strategic plan and the campus action plan, the central, collegiate and administrative IT units at UI developed individual action plans. The IT Strategic Action Plans website (password required) allows you to browse these action plans of the various campus IT groups.

The ITS Strategic Action Plan is the detailed road map that outlines how Information Technology Services will contribute to the campus strategic plan. The list of strategies that are of the highest priority to ITS for the 2007-08 academic year are contained in the FY08 ITS Key Strategies document.
